Player Info; Name/Handle: Rou Are you 18 or over?: Yes’m. Character Info; Alter’s source work, author and character: Young Avengers; Allan Heinberg, Jim Cheung; Wiccan Character Journal name: ![]() Character Name: Billy Kaplan Character Age: 23 Character Played By: Ash Stymest ![]() Character History and Personality: William Kaplan is the eldest of three sons (both his younger brothers are completely obnoxious, trust him). Born in New York City to a pair of doctors (Jeff Kaplan was a cardiologist, and Rebecca Kaplan, a psychologist who loved nothing more than to analyze her children), Billy grew up with a knack for getting in trouble and attracting harassment from school bullies due to his sexuality - and the fact that he was a relentless fanboy obsessed with superheroes and comic books certainly didn’t help his cause. For years he struggled to stand up to those bullies, always falling short of bravery and in turn suffering greatly for it. Until one day, when he found himself in front of the abandoned Avengers Mansion, where he so often went seeking solace. It was on this fateful day that he briefly met the Scarlet Witch (his favorite Avenger, thank you very much). Through her intuition and compassion, she gave Billy some words of encouragement and promised him that he could take care of himself, if only he could find a way to believe in his own power. The sixteen-year-old boy figured that he would do well to take a superhero's advice, and with his newfound confidence managed to stand up to his bully. Unfortunately, in an act of ill-timed convenience, Billy's electromagnetic powers chose to emerge and as result he nearly killed the boy. He was horrified by what he’d nearly done, and he vowed on that day that he wouldlearn to harness his powers, and use them for good. As Billy tried to juggle homework and chores and magical powers, he sought out the Scarlet Witch for help - only to find out that the Avengers had disbanded. However, Billy was one of the people listed in the Avengers Fail-Safe Program compiled by the Vision to be used to form a new team of superheroes in the event of the destruction or disbanding of the Avengers. Iron Lad, a younger version of Kang the Conqueror, found Billy using the Fail-Safe Program and requested his help in preventing his future self from returning him to the future. Billy joined the Young Avengers, and, styling himself after Thor, adopted the super-hero identity of the ‘Asgardian’. He soon began a romantic relationship with his fellow Young Avenger named Teddy, a shape-shifter whose preferred super identity was that of Hulkling. After the group lost Iron Lad and recruited Kate Bishop and Cassie Lang to their cause, the girls suggested that he change his codename from Asgardian to Wiccan, which was more befitting of his ability to cast magic spells (albeit to varying degrees of success).
